What’s Happening at the Library
mitsqanaqan’ (Ventureño Chumash) Dictionary
Broome Library is proud to share a mitsqanaqan’ (Ventureño Chumash) Dictionary; a joint effort between the President’s Chumash Advisory Council, ITS, the Office of the President, and the Library. Special thanks to Matthew Vestuto, Chairman of the Barbareño Ventureño Band of Mission Indians (BVBMI); Asha Ramachandra, Director of IT strategy; and Kaia Tollefson, Chief of Staff, for their vision, leadership, and dedication to this project.
Transformative Agreements with Publishers
Some of our licenses for large journal packages include institutional waivers for
APC charges when publishing Open Access in the licensed journals. This means that
faculty who want to publish Open Access can do so without worrying about the often-substantial
costs of APC charges. These agreements are a win for faculty authors and can promote
Open Access publication, which is now often required by funding agencies. CSUCI has
access to three good transformative agreements with major academic publishers - American
Chemical Society, Elsevier, and Wiley.
