Architectural Tours; 4th Friday of the Month at 10:30 am

You’re invited to Broome Library’s Architectural Tours featuring the architecture of world famous Sir Norman Foster.  Foster is renowned for projects such as the Millennium Bridge and 30 St. Mary Axe (known as the "Gherkin") in London, the Reichstag restoration in Berlin, the Hearst Tower in New York City, and the HSBC Building in Hong Kong.  An early adopter and proponent of sustainability, Foster's projects often employ glass facades to foster natural light and venting and the use of sustainable materials such as concrete.  Foster has won every major architectural award, including the Pritzker Prize, the Stirling Prize (twice), and an AIA Gold Medal.  Now five years old, Foster's Broome Library represents Ventura County's finest representation of contemporary, Modern architecture.

Special Thanks to our docent team: Pamela Abbott-Mouchou, Janice Fostakowsky, Su Part, Rose Curtis, Mary Stark, Barbara Morgan, Hal Hyman, Cheryl Broome, and Mitch Okui.
